Who we are
SciPulse is a Sarotia product that schools use to see whether science in classes 3–10 is taught hands-on: the experiments, projects and team work, and how students and teachers are doing. Each school decides what it puts in; Sarotia runs the service for the school. Questions: Sarotia — sarotialab@gmail.com, or the form on scipulse.sarotia.com.
What is kept
- School staff — the name, mobile number, role and (if given) Gmail address the head teacher enters; the password only as a one-way hash that nobody can read back; and a record of each sign-in and each change a person makes.
- Signing in with Google — Google tells SciPulse only your email address and Google's own number for your account. SciPulse never sees your Google password and has no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
- Refused sign-ins — when a sign-in fails at a school's address, the number or Gmail used, the time and the reason are written in that school's record, so the head teacher can see attempts.
- Students — what the school enters or imports from its own list: name, class, section and roll; and a guardian's mobile number where the school gives one.
- The science work — each class session and its score, project checkpoints, ratings students give their team-mates, notebook checks, observations of teachers and the monthly teacher scores.
- Photographs — one photograph per class session, of the class at work, taken by the teacher.
How it is used
- Only to run the school's science monitoring: plans, sessions, scores, reports and the head teacher's dashboard.
- No advertising. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone outside the school and Sarotia, except Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores its data.
- One cookie keeps you signed in, and a second, short-lived one exists only while you sign in with Google. There are no tracking or analytics cookies, and the page's fonts come from this site itself.
Who can see it
- Inside a school: only the people the school added, and only the parts their role allows.
- A guardian or a student sees only that student's own work, and only photographs the school has approved.
- Sarotia can reach the data to keep the service running and to help the school when asked.
How long it is kept
- A copy of the database is made every morning and each copy is kept for 35 days, so a mistake can be undone.
- A school's data is never deleted automatically — not even when a school stops using SciPulse. A school that wants its data removed, or a guardian who wants a correction, should contact the school; the school can ask Sarotia.
Children's information
Student details and photographs are entered by the school, which is responsible for having the right to do so. Guardians should ask the school to correct or remove a student's details or a photograph.

How to use this page
What SciPulse keeps, why, who can see it and for how long. It is written from what the software actually does.
- Read the section you need — each heading answers one question.
- Write to Sarotia, or ask your school, if something is unclear or needs correcting.
Keep in mind
- Signing in with Google shares only your email address with SciPulse — nothing else from your Google account.
